Skin Fetish

I’m bringing the fresh dewy skin trend with me into next season thanks to Pat skin fetish foundation.

This foundation is definitely different from what I tend to gravitate towards, usually a matte-finish since I have combination skin. It’s the radiant glow you crave all year round. The line offers 36 shades which pales in comparison to Estée Lauder’s and Fenty’s shade range. However the magic lies in the attention given to the undertones. They range from light to deep; targeting the pinks, yellows, neutrals, olives and reds. I’m in the shade Medium Deep 23.

I do have to say, if you’re a matte-finish lover and not a fan of that dewy natural glow peeking out throughout your day, this might not be your cup of tea.

St. Ives Review

Perfect way to end my day using the new St. Ives Chamomile Cleanser and Lip Scrub. I love my cleansers to be multipurpose so I was pretty skeptical to see if this would also remove any makeup and get the job done.

I love how gentle this is on my skin and leaves it feeling nice and fresh. This cleanser has no fragrance and an added plus of it having chamomile in it. Not to mention that it does remove all my makeup from foundation to mascara which I’m all for!

I can use lip scrubs for days and for someone who loves her matte liquid lippies this saves my life! If you’re looking for affordable lip scrub that gets rid of dead skin and moisturize your lips – you want to try this out!

Thanks to Influenster for sending me these goodies to try out!

Concealer Talk.

For the past few months I’ve been testing out the Too Faced Born This Way Muti-Use Sculpting Concealer. The brand claims to deliver a hydrating, long-lasting, four-in-one formula to conceal, contour, highlight and retouch. Here are my thoughts on it compared to the 2 big players in the game – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer & Tarte Shape Tape.

Too Faced takes the win when it comes to packaging. Compared to the others (especially NARS), you are getting what you paid for. I find myself purchasing the NARS so often!

Too Faced has the hydration that I was looking for that I didn’t find in Tarte. Tarte is known for it’s matte finish; but I personally find it to be too drying for my under-eye area. Not the case with Too Faced; maybe it’s because of the infused coconut water?

Even though Too Faced is full-coverage, it isn’t buildable like the NARS. A single application gives you a 0 to glam coverage whereas with NARS you can build it to your desired coverage. You can still get that no-makeup makeup look using NARS.

Overall – I am happy with Too Faced as I do choose it over the Tarte but it will never replace my holy grail, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Uniformly Fabulous

MAC Cosmetics’ Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor in the shade Uniformly Fabulous is a great addition for this season!

I received this at last year’s #ipsygenbeauty and I’ve been waiting for a reason to wear it for quite some time. ⠀

They have a range of beautiful shades. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to apply and I don’t even need to use a lip liner. It’s pigmented and long-lasting. I’m not a fan of doing touch-ups while I’m out which is another reason why I give this a thumbs up! Did I mention that they come with a great shade range? They have a few nudes that are so beautiful so if you guys are looking, check it out!

Perfect Liquid Matte Lip Formula?

Bella Cosmetics
Bella – Kitana; Bella – Anjali

If you know me, you know that I’m all about the dark lips. But we all know what a struggle it is to slay the mattes without drying our lips out.

Kitana from Bella Cosmetics is everything a dark matte lip should be without the added cons. I was able to wear it throughout the day. Not only does it feel comfortable, but it also doesn’t fade. I notice that some dark formulas tend to dry and crumble on the lips but this does NOT do that! Can’t wait to get my hands on the others!

Check out the new Fall Collection – the colors are to die for!

Is this $340.99+ Box Worth the Hype?

image.JPEG

What is it?

Over the years I saw a lot of excitement about the Fabfitfun subscription box all over social media and I wanted to see what the hype was about. I myself, like to explore through different subscription services to get my hands on a variety of products. Usually, services come with sample size products which is the best way to see if you like the product or not.

With FabFitFun, you receive full-sized fashion, beauty and fitness products that are worth more than $200, just for $49.99! There’s no commitment – you can enroll for just a season to see if you like what you’re getting or do it annually and save a few dollars.

One thing different about this box is that you can see what you’re getting before you place your order versus other subscription services where you kind of just get a surprise in the mail.

The Products:

Summer 2018 Total Value $340.99 –

  1. Tarte Tarteist PRO glo highlight & contour palette (I already have one so I’m holding it off for a future giveaway!) – Value $45.00
  2. Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator – Value $29.00, I was excited about seeing this in here!
  3. Orlando Play Atmos-Shield Hair Protectant Treatment Spray – Value $34.00
  4. FOREO LUNA! fofo – This was why I re-subscribed for this seasons box, the value of this is $89.00!

  6. Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish – Value $14.99
  7. Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel – Value $39.00
  8. Yumi Kim Makeup Train Case – Value $58.00

Worth it?

As you can see, this box is worth $340.99. I actually did spend $45.00 on the Tarte PRO go palette last year so the prices are pretty accurate. If you are into subscriptions and like trying out new things, I think FabFitFun is a great way to do so to get a variety of products. First-time subscribers can always find $10 coupons online!

Too Faced?

exif_temp_image 3.JPGThe Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer, a baked luminous glow bronzer – the name says it all. Not only is this my top favorite bronzer, but it’s also my top favorite beauty product. I’ve recommended it to a few people and they can agree as well!

It’s the perfect formula and shade for my skin tone. Since there are two shades in one, I used it both separately to bronze and highlight my face as well as combined – all over my face. It gives such a beautiful, natural glow. I can’t get enough of this.

What are some of your favorite bronzers?

Beauty Water, Anyone?

IMG_6482.JPG
I received a lot of questions about the recent story I posted on my Instagram about the Beauty Water – what is it and why do you need it.
My favorite part of my beauty routine is using my toner!
Key Benefits:
⁃It restores your pH balance
⁃It refreshes your skin leaving it hydrated
⁃It leaves your skin looking radiant
After I wash my face and dry it, I use my toner right before I apply my serum/moisturizer.
This one has been my favorite and is available at Sephora or on Sokoglam. Another alternative, which is also a favorite, is the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic available at Target
So why tone? To restore, refresh and stay radiant!⠀

Recovery

IMG_4357

Can anyone else relate to coming out of the cold season with dry lips? I for sure have been struggling with that. Not to mention the existence of liquid lipsticks making it ten times worse.

Aside from dry lips this winter, I was also dealing with my outer lips being darker than usual. After many trials and errors using other products and DIY techniques – which I could have been at fault since I probably wasn’t doing it correctly – but nonetheless, nothing seemed to be doing the job.

I thought I had found my holy grail, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment – which I loved and still wanted to love, but it just did not do the job for me. It felt great on the lips but I found myself reapplying it every so often which was inconvenient.

Many people have been raving about the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, so I decided to give it a try. I’ve been dying to do a review on this product for so long now!

Where do I even begin? First off, the packaging is super cute! It comes with a little applicator which allows you to scoop out as little as you need. It’s made up of vitamin c, antioxidants and a mix of berries – all the good stuff you need in your beauty routine. It has a very subtle sweet scent which doesn’t linger on for long. The best part is that it glides on smoothly, leaving your lips shiny without leaving a greasy residue. A little goes a long way for sure. I not only use this as a night time mask but also during the day right before any event – especially if I’m going to throw on a liquid lipstick.

Within a few days, I definitely noticed a huge difference. It’s safe to say, “Toodles chapped lips, hello softness!” My darkness around my lip area also improved within a few nights of using this product. This is now my holy grail product – no more lip balms!

I’m new to this whole masking world and never realized how relaxing it can be after such a long day. With Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask and one of my other current faves the Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask  I throw these on right before bed and it’s an instant game changer.
