The City That Never Sleeps.

It’s finally here; NYFW! As much as it kills to not be there in person, social media has been doing its justice. The city that never sleeps is full of excitement, bringing together diversity from all around the world and connecting us to one thing. Here’s to NYFW and to dreams!

Flashback Friday – Radha Kaise Na Jale Image

I’ve been dancing since the age of 4. I recently graduated in Bharatanatyam, which is one of the oldest forms of dances in India. It’s always nice to have a hobby or a stress reliever to run off to and take your mind off of things. Dancing happens to be one of mine. This photo was taken during a performance at an Indian Republic Day Show in 2010 to the song “Radha Kaise Na Jale” from the movie Laagan.

So I know I have been missing for awhile and I have a very good reason for it. The past 8 months I have been training for my Arangetram, something I have been waiting for to do in so long. Arangetram is basically a dance graduation when one performs (or more than one) an average of 8 solo pieces for almost 3 hours. Bharathanatyam is an ancient Indian style of classical dancing. I started taking Bharathnatyam classes at the age of 4. I would like to go into detail but I shall save that for another time! But here is a picture of one of my favorite pieces I performed on Goddess Meenakshi, the Meenakshi Padam.
